Looking Forward: What I've been up to, some coming changes, and a little bit of the unknown.
I'm looking forward to sharing the way my practice is evolving. :)
I was so excited to get back into the swing of things that I didn’t give myself the space to update y’all a bit on my practice, how things are shifting, and some of the ways I’ve been growing behind the scenes.
Working towards ISAR Certification
As someone with a whole lot of Saturn energy, I’m very grateful for and eager to align myself with things that help create a set of traditions and standards within the astrology industry (I don’t know if that’s the right word but it is the chosen one for the moment). ISAR (International Society for Astrological Research) is an organization that offers a certification process that involves being well-rounded and knowledgeable as an astrologer including within consultation and ethical practices.
The process involves a few steps. You have to pass three exams and take two required courses, but aside from that it can be done by anyone from any background, training, and traditions.
This past summer I met the first requirement by completing and ace-ing a course on ethics for astrologers. I’m really proud of myself for taking this first step and I just wanted to share that with y’all. I’m hoping that this is the year I wrap up the other steps, but it’ll depend on how my studies go in the fields I’m less familiar with (Synastry for example).
Some Newsletter Shifts
I’ve had a lot of fun exploring lunar charts in the past, but I found that more recently, as I thought about returning to my content creation, I felt a bit stifled by it. I found that I was most proud of the pieces that I wrote unexpectedly, when I was drawn to writing about it.
So you’ll find that my newsletters, while they’ll come frequently again, won’t be as predictable. I’ll write about the events and transits that I’m drawn to, and share rituals and spiritual goodies as I feel called to.
Since I’ll be doing some studying as well, I’ll try to share a bit of what I’m learning and direct y’all to resources if you’re also interested in developing your knowledge about astrology.
As you may notice, the newsletter is now titled “Cosmic Musings.”
Shifts in my Practice
For the majority of the time that I’ve been providing readings, I’ve labeled myself a Hellenistic Astrologer. I’ll be shuffling that a bit and going with “Traditional Astrologer” now that I’ve been studying new techniques and practices that feel more aligned and right for me. Hellenistic is still very much a base for me, but I’m also incorporating more from outside this tradition.
How to Work With Me
I’m open for sessions now, but always on a limited availability given that I balance this with my full time job and some other big projects that are in the works. I’m still offering natal, solar revolution/year ahead readings, classes, and a few more mini readings are still available. Check out these offerings below!
Classes, ebooks, and mini readings.
Quick info about sessions
Someone recently asked for clarity on types of readings, so I’ll share what I wrote to them.
Natal Chart Readings: This involves taking a look at the chart of the day you were born, in-depth. It can be hyper focused on specific topics or broad depending on where you're at in life and what you're most curious about. If you've never had a full in-depth natal chart reading, I always think those are good to begin with. They give you a strong base of knowledge about your chart that isn't really covered by reading bits here and there. Natal chart readings can vary based on the astrologer you book with and their area of focus.
Solar Revolution/Year Ahead: These involve working both with your natal chart and the solar return chart (occasionally other planetary return charts as well). In the natal chart, we look at the natal promises and events that are to occur. When pairing with the solar return chart, we’re able to see how these themes/events may manifest, and timelines as well.
Mythos of You: This is a specialized natal chart reading that goes beyond the core chart. We take a look at the asteroids in your chart, and see what narrative they are weaving. This is best for those who have already had an in-depth natal chart reading as it gets a bit more specific and helps to see larger themes at play in your life.
The Midheaven Reading: This is another specialized chart that is best after a standard natal chart reading. We focus this reading on career, skills, and gifts. I offer suggestions on how to begin your own business, where to focus your attentions on your career, and share any natural inclinations and skills that may be present in your chart. Your intake notes help to create focused discussion points and action items.
I’d love to hear from you all!
If you have anything you’d love to see more of, if you want to update me on past readings and how they’ve influenced you, please always feel free to reply to my emails or send a message directly. Content creation isn’t an isolated practice, it’s best when made with audiences and community in mind so I’m all ears when it comes to what would be most beneficial in this coming year for y’all.
